The I-44 Rivalry approaches game time

Its late Thursday night and the players are hopefully resting up for a big day, on Friday. NOAH is sending about 100 athletes up the turnpike to compete in a series of gridiron matchups.

The Junior high teams begin competition at 4:30 at Willard Stadium, just in the outskirts of the Springfield metro area. Another game will follow at 5:30pm, in the buildup to the 7:30 varsity main event.

HSLive365.com has enlisted correspondents to cover the game, and I, David Van Risseghem, of the NOAH Communications team will be in the press box along with the fine staff of Lighthouse Christian, in an effort to bring the game to you and all the fans of homeschool athletics.

We’ll be posting up data to cover the scoring drives, quarterly reports, along with color and background in an attempt to give your imagination the best opportunity to experience the game from your distant location.

Sign in early and post your comments along the way. We’ll make this an interactive event. Look for a few guests, some game photography and some special moments in this storied rivalry.

A special thanks to Amy Van Risseghem  for her sideline efforts in testing the SMS format of updating.

Tomorrow night is the big event at Springfield and we are expanding the coverage to add some color commentary from the press box.
We'll work with the Springfield staff to bring you the best details of the two teams and their accomplishments.

We'll come to you from our tethered laptop and the best 3G connection we can get.

The leadership at Springfield seemed to have a similar view of the tradition.
David Taylor  of the Chargers leadership responded;    "Great info, David!  LOVE the I-44 RIVALRY … you know our guys are hungry for a win against your outstanding program!  Thanks for sending … you did a super job.  We’re looking forward to the game!  ~David Taylor"
